Fajitas, Friends, and Fun

We had a wonderful weekend!! Kicked off Friday by getting a whole new hair do! It was so much fun getting to hang out with Aubrey and letting her make me all beautiful! So now I am a partial blonde, and I have my extensions where I can wear them again!! :) So happy!!  Here are a couple of pics, not great ones but all I got.

On Saturday, I had another Scentsy party!! It was so much fun and I got some great pics...coming soon!  I am very excited because I reached the next level, Certified Consultant!! Things are going go with Scentsy, and I am really wanting to go far in this business! So, if you need anything please let me know!! Especially since Mother's day is just around the corner....Scentsy makes great gifts!!

Saturday evening we met up with our sweet friends the Johnsons!!! We went to Corona's and had a blast!! We absolutely love hanging out with Brian and Vicky! We have so much fun together.....lots of laughs for sure!

Sunday was just a relaxing day....we had to go grocery shopping which was a MAD HOUSE!!! Both Sam's and HEB were just crazy with everyone.  I was dredging the journey to the store but we had to go because we were running low on everything.

Well, that was our weekend in a nutshell!  Hope everyone else had a great one!!

Friends, Food, and Family

Sunday night we had our sweet friends, Brian and Vicky over for dinner! We had such a great time!! They are so much to hang out with.  We had one of our favorite dishes, Stinky Chicken! It is such a great and EASY dish to make.

First preheat oven to 300 degrees.  Spray 9x13 casserole dish.

You will need the following ingredients:

2-3 cans of green beans (I use French style and I normally use 2 cans, but I am going to up it to 3)

red potatoes, however many you desire, halved or quartered

1 pkg of dry Italian dressing (can use ranch if desired or have it on hand)

1/2 to 1 stick of butter

2-4 chicken breasts

After draining green beans place in bottom or along one side of casserole dish.  I put mine all over the bottom of the dish.  Layer chicken breasts on top of green beans.  Place potatoes down side(s) of pan, depending on the placement of the green beans.  Sprinkle entire dish with dry dressing package, after melting butter pour over dish.  Cover with foil and cook in over for 2 hours at 300 degrees.

And there you have Stinky Chicken!!  One of the best dishes EVER!!

Also, last weekend my mom hosted a Scentsy party! We had a great time!!! I took some pictures to celebrate my first party!

As you can see it was quite an eventful weekend! This weekend is looking to be about the same with spring cleaning, game night/dinner with friends, and church! Next recipe to be entered: Chicken and Dumplings! YUM! :)

Oh, I started my new job on Monday and even though this is only the first week and I am just really observing, I am LOVING it!!! I can't wait to get started doing things. I know this is the field I am supposed to be in. I just love everything about it! Have a great weekend everyone!

A Turn-Around

So, lots of things have happened this week. I had my last day on the floor Thursday and that is the same day that Matt heard he passed the background check for the police officer position!!!! Not only did he pass, he was one of the only 8 that did!!! I am SO proud of him!! All I can do is praise the Lord!!!

I start my new job on Monday morning, and I am thrilled for the new challenge! I am also excited because I can start meal planning again! I think I am going to do like a cookbook thing like many people already do.  But I think it would be fun to share my meals with others.

I had my first Scentsy party today and it went GREAT!!! I was so happy! It was a little nerve wrecking and scared.  But it was very successful! :) So, anyway pictures and recipes to come!!

Blessings,
Leah Marie

*2011*

So, the new year has come and gone already! It amazes me that time is just flying by. I cannot believe that Matt and I have been married for almost 8 months!!! Though we have had our ups and downs and are not perfect, I wouldn't trade it for the world!! Matt has been amazing husband, and I have loved getting to know him in our marriage on a new and more intimate level.

We have been a part of an amazing group of married couples that has inspired, loved, and encouraged us through this new chapter of our lives.  We have loved every minute of being about of this group.  And now that Matt has applied to the Harker Heights police dept and made it through two cuts (please pray that he continues to make the cuts) it looks like we could be here for a while.  So it is nice that we have made these wonderful friends to grow with at this time in our lives!!

I have started selling Scentsy Wickless Candles!!!! I am very excited about this new adventure that God has blessed me with. Please feel free to let me know if you need anything our have any questions.  Check out my website: leahmarie.scentsy.us.

I am excited and nervous to see what the Lord has in store for Matt and I.  I pray that I can continue to faithful and trust that He is in control and has a perfect plan for Matt and I.  Please continue to pray for Matt and I as we are looking to new career opportunities.

prayers, blessings, and love to each of you!!

Fall is Here!!!

I am so excited that today was so nice and cool with fall weather!!

So, these last few weeks I have been attending this bible study for young married women, and it has been awesome! We have been learning the lessons in Titus 2:3-5 plus learning different meals to cook and techniques with those meals. If anyone knows me, then they know that I LOVE to cook!  I love having new recipes to use! I made homemade lasagna for the first time this weekend! It was awesome! We have had some great food, and I look forward to making more from the many recipes to come! :)

The second bible study that Matt and I are both are attending is wonderful! We are making new friends and learning about the Lord and what He is calling us to do. What could be better!?  After reading part of the lesson today, I was so convicted on the life I live. I pray that I can be a light for the Lord and live for Him and not myself.

Have a great and blessed week!

"Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God." Titus 2:3-5

Settling In

Matt and I are finally starting to settle into the groove of our lives together.  Between work, family, church, and friends we are very busy.  But in the midst of all the craziness, Matt and my mom managed to plan a surprise party for me last weekend! It was pretty awesome I must admit, along with being totally surprised!! But, that wasn't the only surprise I had last weekend! Matt invited his parents up to visit us! :) It was a very awesome surprise! We went out to lunch and I thought they had to go back home (3 hour drive) then another surprise was they came to the party! I was under the impression they were turning around and going home, but SO surprised to see them at the party that night.  Sunday (my actual bday) Matt took me out to Round Rock after church.  It was a nice day with the hubby!  All in all, my 25th birthday was filled with wonderful surprises and amazing family!
Birthday Princess!!! So much fun!
So excited about the pedi/mani gift certificate!!
ECLIPSE!! Enough said!
My awesome husband!!! Love him oh so much!
Heading to Round Rock for a fun-filled birthday!!!

I guess that is all that has happened in the past few weeks. We are not the most exciting people....haha!!  However, we are becoming very involved in a Sunday school class and a small group.  We are loving the people we are meeting and becoming friends with. It is such a blessing from the Lord to meet people our age and have the same desire in life, to serve the Lord and love people as He calls us to do!

My daily struggle is to surrender to the Lord DAILY and let His will be done and not mine.  Adjusting to married life in my walk with the Lord has been a little difficult. Satan is constantly whispering deceitful lies to me....and the horrible thing is believing them can be easy! I pray that the Lord continues to strengthen me in Him to remember His truths and promises to Matt and I.  Please pray for me that I would focus on God's word and what He has said and not what Satan lies are telling me.  Thank you so much!  God bless you and your family!

"11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile."
